22nd May menu!

hi there,

i'm very pleased to share the new menu for the n15 tea party that's happening on the 22nd of may at 2pm. so come along, meet new and interesting people, savour the home baking, listen to great music, have a nosy around a strangers house (let's not kid ourselves, it's definitely part of the attraction of a supper club!) and come away relaxed, inspired and full to the brim with tea and treats.

this time, instead of the book swap, we are going to do a recipe swap - so write out your favourite recipe and bring it along to swap with another guest!

email then15teaparty@gmail.com to book.

sharing and caring

hello there!

i am in a sharing kind of a mood today so i am giving up my amazing scone recipe for you all to try. seriously. it is so good. it is so easy to make and the scones are consistently yummy. also, as the recipe is butter free they are pretty healthy... *she says, slathering on the whipped cream!*

enjoy. and report back.

x

p.s - i have uploaded my scanned recipe, which i hope gives the appearance of being rustic and authentic... as opposed to smeared, scrawly and stained! if you need it deciphered, just email me at then15teaparty@gmail.com.

tea and polaroids

the second tea party was a lovely, lovely time had by all. i must say the chance to meet new and interesting women is so invigorating, i am really enjoying the experience of putting these tea parties together. so thank you to all the ladies who attended for their sparkling conversation, wit and ability to put away the scones!

i am currently in the throes of a love affair with the polaroid filter programme meg
blogged about ... so all the pics of saturdays loveliness have been poladroid-ed

*this trio is my secret favourite - it's pink in the inside of the cup and is called 'Louise' - magic!

*delicious savory treats - red onion and cheese tarts

* the sandy-man insists on fresh flowers for every tea party - what a man!

*brand new paper bunting

*the final table

although, sadly, anna couldn't make it - we are hoping she can join us next time....

...which will be on the 22nd of May at 2pm.

the menu will be up in the next few days, as usual email through to then15teaparty@gmail.com to book.

of wild weather, jam drops and wedding songs

london has reverted to mad wintery weather this bank holiday weekend and after cycling home from stoke newington through a hail shower and into buffeting head winds (that induced a vigourous sneezing fit that almost drove me into a parked car) i have retreated to the flat with heating on and the 'away we go' soundtrack playing.

the sandy-man and i watched the movie last night and it was so wonderful and funny and heart-warming (and heart-breaking). the couple really reminded us of his sister and boyfriend who are currently with child and i imagine going through similar questions of life and their place in it as they prepare to meet their first child.

as i enjoy the soundtrack i am thinking that george harrisons 'what is life' will be a great addition to the wedding playlist. does anyone have any other great, fun, non Shania Twain suggestions?

also, back to the initial blog purpose, i have been experimenting with jam drops for the tea party on the 8th. they are super easy to make and crazy delicious with a big cup of tea. here is the original recipe for all you bakers out there.
